Logo Redesign

One of my clients recently went through the process of redesigning their logo. After redesigning and rebuilding the site for the best part of 12 months, to then change the logo 3 months post launch, was really interesting. After all, we’d designed the site to be modern and take a fresh direction, but it still had to work with the existing established logo. That said, the new logo fits in perfectly with the new direction we took for the sites redesign.

The change in logo made me wonder a few things. From what I have experienced in the past, logo redesigns are not meant to increase business specifically. They are really intended for and meant to reflect a change in an organization. This change actually seems to be the last piece of the puzzle to bring the site full circle.

A new logo is meant to symbolize a renewed sense of purpose and progress and I think they have achieved this. This change should motivate employees, however logos are more importantly, meant to create a brand identity for customers. To them, a design change means not only a brand change, but a product change which is exactly they are looking to achieve as they rebrand the business and expand into more fields within their industry.
