Flash for a long time has proved to be the most powerful way of creating online games and you might even say, spawned the online gaming industry. With slick animations, vector graphics and lightning fast interactivity that gamers demand, complex concepts became a reality with Flash. And while most of the online games you know and love have been made in Flash, we are quickly discovering the future of online game development being paved in HTML5.

We are excited about HTML5 - A new, emerging technology which is open source, completely free and, as you will very quickly realize, powerful enough to create fun and addictive online games. There are already many fantastic titles available from the past year such as Agent8Ball http://agent8ball.com/ which landed within the top 5 HTML5 websites of 2012 in a recent review. It’s very smooth and highly addictive – something every online game hopes to be.

As with any new technology, we expect there to be some initial problems. HTML5 is not immune to this – mostly due to older browser technology. However with the support of some of the biggest names in web technology like Google, Apple and Microsoft, these issues will likely be overcome in the coming years, especially as the technology develops.
